And Again Again

by Kevin   Jan 23, 2005

Blessed be their children
graced
with threats for silence
though parents never are such

and I as child
silent as I will them
yearn to parent the parents

ground in them
a little awareness
Mothering hints of compassion
foster Father cause and effect

so angels before them
innocently do not mime
their childlike parents vicious lines

And to think that before I read your comment, Pink, I was thinking some people had just (completely!) not gotten the poem.

Kevin, once again you've written curtly but emotionally a poignant piece. Perhaps even more directly emotional for me simply because I'm in social work and we just seem to be facing growing neglect and abuse of children regardless of how much education and societal change is attempted. This is a great piece.

PS: Someone went through about the most recent 10-15 poems of mine and placed 1's on a whole bunch of them. Hopefully someone just really doesn't like my poetry instead of having some weird vengeance trip. If so, maybe we annoyed the same person? I admittedly could only hope; I'd be proud to be counted in your company if that were the case.

I have a strong suspicion someone who didn't appreciate your critisizm is stalking you...
(directed twords the rating as a 1)

I think it was absolutly beautiful and well written. I love your symbolism, and the meaning behind them I interpreted as heart-felt emotion directed twords abuse and neglect?
(sorry if I got that wrong, either way it's lovely)
The worded lines put together in each stance created a rythm to the piece that pulled at an interest from the reader and made it all the more lovely
    Excellent job
