I want to grow old with you

As I wipe the tears off of your face
and look at you as we embrace
holding our child
just a new born
I say to myself
I want to grow old with you

As I see you working hard
sweat pouring down your face
our first new home
our own place
I say to myself
I want to grow old with you

As we stand waiting for the bus today
kissing our baby and wishing him luck
his first day of school
has arrived
I say to myself
I want to grow old with you

You kiss me gently
and hold my hand
waiting for the doctor
you understand
I say to myself
I want to grow old with you

It is not good news
I have only a few months
but yet a few years together
just seems not enough
I cry to myself
I want to grow old with you

You wipe the tears
falling down from my face
and kiss me gently
as we embrace
I wish to myself
I want to grow old with you

I'll never see winter again
cause it is now spring
I hold your face
and stare into your eyes
and I think to myself
I'll never grow old with him

We had together twenty great years
you always comforted me
and calmed my fears
I hope to myself
please God find someone
to grow old with him

To hold his hand
when I am gone
love him more than life it's self
he is the man that I adored
I think to myself
Why can't I grow old with him

And now I'm gone
I watch you from above
and forever you'll be
the only man I love
I smile to myself
I can't grow old with him

    At first I was going to not read this one but I did and it was pretty good. Got more emotional towards the ending then the start of it. The last line was pretty good too.

    Amazing poem. at first it didn't quite capture me but near the end i was fully captured by this poem. it brought tears to my eyes. it's just filled with such beautiful and sweet understanding emotions while facing death. wonderful job~
