Reflection of Me

by MemoirsOfMe   Apr 25, 2006

The memories from the past
Flood my distorted mind
I'm in an effortless escapade
It is me whom I cannot find

Was it you who let everything slip away?
I say into the darkened mirror
It only stares straight back
And sends me feared glances

I do not know of your intentions
All I do is want to escape
You cannot help but mention
I have come too late

The image reflected in your eyes
Is it a revelation of my own?
I cannot help but see
It is myself forming slowly

Why have I turned out as such?
All I wanted was a real life
Except others gave me things
I didn't really want

What happens when I get too far?
Into this deepened whole of misery?
Can I merely flee and leave this behind
Or will there be some consequence?

People tell me not to
But I cannot help but think
I could leave this life behind
And be gone in a blink

So tell me, reflection
What do your thoughts show?

hunn dont give up on life.* Not the way to go. I love the poem though. It shows a lot of pain and emotion. Great structure and flow also.
