Bus Home

by David Munoz   May 18, 2006

Down the beaten path and around the bend
Across the raging river where the road does end
Sits an old man who has seen many years
Has lived through many sorrows and cried many tears
But yet looks forward with a smile on his face
Eyes full of justice and heart full of grace
Gone are his days of youthfulness and passion
Come are his days of virtue and compassion
Solemnly waiting for the last bus home
Leaving behind his legacy tome*
As his bus arrives he glances behind
Seeing all his memories play from his mind
He enters the bus and with one final wave
His bus departs, and they cover his grave

*Tome- Long book. In this case he is leaving behind a big legacy.
