The bell sounds

by Independence Forever   Apr 3, 2007

Amid-st war and diversity the bell rang
the people shouted and oh how they sang

through cannon and musket fire they marched
with wounds, hunger and many a man parched

signatures placed on beautifully written text
to face the troubles of treason, all were vexed

independence like a torrent came rolling on America's shores
the unanimous vote would bring contention and more sores

oh but that liberty bell rang loud and clear
ringing in independence for all colonist to hear

the war was far from being over, the worst was yet to come
but with a new start, all prepared to wipe away tyranny scum

on the 4th the bell rang, rising in volume cleansing the world
for upon the inhabitants of this hemisphere, hope unfurled
