A Dogs Day

by JEFF   Feb 7, 2008

I walked out my door,
Getting ready to go out.
Scaring this cat so bad,
He ran all about.

Slowing down just enough,
To catch a dog running up.
The cat fled through the yard,
They both ran really hard.

The dog chased the cat,
All the way down the street.
I moved to my car,
Sliding my feet.

Starting my car,
Beginning to leave.
When the cat comes back,
Something up his sleeve.

I start backing up,
Not knowing their around.
Cat quickly moves,
Fast across the ground.

Sliding under my car,
He exits the other side.
Then jumped on the trunk,
As I took him for a ride.

Not stopping soon enough,
I run over something rough.
Jumping out my seat,
To find a dog dead at my feet.

As I wig out,
Moving all about.
The cat stands by,
Watching the dog die.

He slowly walks away,
As I begin to pray.
When out of nowhere,
The cat is attacked by a bear.

The dog seem to smile,
As he walks that last mile.
Knowing that soon that cat would die,
And in Heaven theres no running
so he'll fly.

That cat will be mine,
No escape up a vine.
No hiding in a tree,
He will soon fear me.

As the dog passes on,
And the cat comes his way.
Their eyes locked once more,
As he's longed for this day.
