Dear Steve

by Jodie Phillips   Feb 18, 2008

The sadness i see
When i look into your eyes
It makes me want to cry.

When i think of my own pain
I can't help but think of you
How are you getting through?

She was your partner
Your best friend
Together until the end.

You were her rock
There for her day and night
Only to sadly watch her lose her fight.

You are an amazing person
How you coped so well
With what i can only describe as hell.

As i write this poem
Tears fall on the page
Making the ink run away.

It hurts me so much
I think about it, if it was me
I don't know where i would be.

How are you coping
without her here?
I know you desperately want her near.

I no you miss her cuddles
They made you better when you felt down
Who will make you feel better now?

She would be so proud of you
For what you have done
That incredible site, allowing her memory to live on.

She will always be with you
Continue to believe
Never forget your own words, at least now she is happy.

You being with her, led her safely on her way
Free from suffering and pain
In heaven she's Sam again.

I will never truly understand
What you have and are still going through
You have a constant space in my thoughts
I want you to know I'm here for you.
