Heartbeats Meld

Walk outside, icy rush of cold
night stars brilliantly sparkling
diamond drops in the dark sky
the air leeches away warmth
light fading quickly as well
darkness twines it's tendrils round
shadows of distant memory encircle
[gripping grasping groping haunting]

silvery luminescent light of the moon
trying, but only able to dispel so much dark
and darkness does gain supreme control
dominating, invisible fingers squeeze

walk faster, and faster [hurry]
away from the cold
away from memories of the past
away from pain of the present
though escape is truly impossible
it's forever in your mind
sometimes the back but mostly the front

let me in the fears whisper seductively

knock knock

it's okay, say your sins and demons
scream out though [NO] leave me
let me escape you pray
and they do, for now [only for now]
they'll be back though darling
shh [shh.]
heartbeat speeds in your chest

thump thump

can feel it [in my chest too] fear?
perhaps but don't be afraid
nothing to fear love i promise
it won't hurt eventually, the pain will ease
teeth drive in hard; desiring
red marks stark on pale skin
heartbeats quicken steadily
the meld to one within
