Deception

My vacant heart is calling
Can no one hear its plight
Is silence all that echoes out
Into the empty night

Does no one see beyond the smile
Enshrouding the endless pain
Can no one see the tears I shed
Intermingling with the rain

My deception has fooled the keenest eye
Impassive through each trial
Yet one sees beyond this beguiling mask
Has glimpsed the turmoil behind the smile

He hears the voice of my vacant heart
He mocks the unbounded treachery
He knows the hidden secret
This reflection in my mirror...me
