Scene Missing (No Happy Ending)

by DirgeVenustas   Apr 1, 2008

For Chelsea Shafto

Finish a scene
And she's walking out
Rewind your life
And delete your doubt

Make me break me
Pause my hate
Movies starting
Don't be late

Press play
And my heart beats
Fast forward the tears
As he walks the empty streets

The writer wears a mask
To cover the pain
He gets his inspiration
From walks in the rain

My life sits still
Stays on standby
The writers so far gone
Fear not for he's going to die

Shout all you want
Your cries won't be heard
Select a scene
And skip over his last words

That's it, credits rolling
Who sang the last song
And she's not coming back
All because she was wrong

For a friend that showed me that there can be a happy ending to my unfinished movie of my life. Thank you.

I love the descriptions in this piece, and the flow was so smooth while the words were written and placed so preciously. Your voice is clear and the style is wonderful. I absolutely love this piece.

This poem had really good flow and I really liked it.
I'm left wondering how it has a happy ending though. From what I gather this was writing during a time in your life when someone walked out on you right? 5/5
