Why?

Time is passing by
Steadily and merciless
We all know
But than why?

Why don't we act?
Stop the pointlessness in this world?
Why don't we save Mother Nature?
And our own kind?

We all know what we are doing
Or so we say
There is no need to remind us
But than why?

Why is nothing changing?
Where are those people that shout they know better?
Why is the world still the same?
How come nothing happens?

Oh yes, we all know
It is going the wrong way
Important people tell us on TV
But than why?

Why are the wars still raging?
Isn't the knowledge enough?
Why are the roads still overloaded?
What does it take to stop?

Do not step in your car
Saying you want to stop global warming
Do not fight in any way
Saying you long for ultimate peace
Do not throw litter in a bush
Saying they should stop chopping trees

Admit human kind is not quite there yet
And maybe we'll get a chance
For change starts with acceptance
And a change is what we need

Why?

Because...

    Your point was very well read throughout this poem, though i would love to have seen more rhymes i wouldnt dare change it for the world - it was a very refreshing read, one i havnt come accross in a very long time on this site or in this club - no offence intended. Well done.

    Well Written , and the way you ask such real questions --- A realistic poem .. if I ask Why are we going far from God? ... probably it may answer some of the questions which have been asked in ur poem

    Omg! i can relate in so many ways it is totally unreal. i love the raw emotion you put into this, it really makes me think about global warming and climate change. I'm walking to school tomorrow. lol. nice write. 5/5 ~KM~
