The Mighty Hand

by amber   Apr 10, 2008

He was there to break those chains
He was there to set me free
He was there with his ship
To save me of lifes troubled sea
And in his arms i find release
And i find my strength to stand
I can withstand any temptation
As long as i have his hand

That mighty hand that rescues
And grasps at all our hearts
That mighty hand that knocks on the door
For us to take the part
The mighty hand that picks us up
And strengthens our soul out of care
The mighty hand we cling to
The one who's always there

And when the devil holds me down
ANd his chains bare no slack
I Find that in the prescence of him
God's faith is what i lack
Right when i htink it's all over
I hear that Angel Band
I reach up and cry to God
And he reaches down his hand.

    Amber,

This is a beautiful dedication to our Savior.
I agree with all that you say..indeed He is always there when you reach out for him.

I reach up and cry to God
And he reaches down his hand

^^ My favorite lines in this poem:)
    We should never doubt him.

    Take care,

    5/5 Ingrid
ps: Thank you so much for the comment to my poem and the compliment. The ballerina was used as a metaphor for all women who face surpression by their husbands and/or their government:)
