Heart Forced into Slavery

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Apr 15, 2008

I wanted to put this under the Love Poems section, but it didn't seem to fit. :P

My heart was forced into slavery.
It was chained and forced to beat.
I feel I'm loosing my bravery.
All it wants is to retreat.

This was something I tried to avoid.
I didn't want this feeling to prevail.
Before we met my heart was a void,
then your poisons I began to inhale.

I wanted to get out of this.
I almost got away.
And then you gave me your sweet kiss.
Now my heart's forced to stay.

We were not meant to work out.
The chosen path seemed so clear.
Didn't meant to take that route,
but to your heart I adhere.

What will happen? I cannot tell.
There is nothing more to do.
It sits and beats inside its cell.
I've fallen in love with you.
