Fallen Angel

Broken promises, caught in lies
it doesn't hurt to hear her cries
she asks you why you do these things
why you've stepped on and broken her wings

This angel fell from heaven
and gave you all her love
but now your heart grows cold
and theres no light from above

She's lost sight of what she was
the innocent creature of dreams
because you've taken all her happiness
and replaced it with her screams

She screams for help, for someone else
to save her from her cage
she can't do it anymore
shes tried to calm your rage

The fights are long she's grown tired
she tells herself that it's not that bad
but the things you say when you're mad
are destroying what you both had

She wonders what it will take
for you to take her hand
she's fallen so far by now
she's stuck in sinking sand

Her thoughts make her go deeper
into her own personal hell
and the everlasting sadness
has locked her in this shell

This shell of someone normal
is what she has become
but she was once an angel
beautiful to some

The happy songs and a warm embrace
are so far from her current place
she's lost to everyone, she's a falling dove
someones lost their angel, a savior from above
