Holocaust, a girls story

by LostEnigma   Nov 17, 2005

They forced her out of her warm bed
Yelled and spat at her and grabbed her by the head.

They forced them on the truck anyway they could
They didn't treat them as humans, like other people would.

They threatened her with death and pain
Treated them like dirt, what was there to gain?

They were told to be quiet and not to speak a word
Being tired and scared not a sound was heard.

From the truck they met a train with limited space
This was her last journey to a horrible place.

During the long trip she looked up at her dad
She asked them what they had done that was so bad.

Her father looked at her and said "they just don't understand"
And with that being said he gently grabbed her hand.

She looked up at her father with young eyes bright
He knew it wasn't possible for her to win this fight.

He knew all of the secrets from the things he had been told
He knew all of the dangers that Auschwitz could hold.

The train came to a halt and the doors revealed unknown lands
They separated the adults, they ripped her from his hands.

While they were separated she knew she wouldn't cry
Her mind was set on one word, one question, why?

She was stopped by three soldiers who knew she was a Jew
They said we'll send her to the doctor, he'll know what to do.

They took away her identity, she had no more to lose
They stripped her of her clothing, her name, her shoes.

To them she was an item, a number, a Jew
But she was one of the unrelenting, the few.

She walked up to those doors, she never shed a tear
She faced the Angel of Death, faced him without fear.

Even though their thoughts she could not bend
She wasn't an item she was a niece, a friend, she was a daughter, a sister, a Jew till the end.
