My cat, little M.J

by Trying to hold on   May 1, 2008

She has made me smile and laugh
When with living life I'd disagree
By all the funny things she does
And the love she has given me,

Like carting round in her mouth
Head up high with such care
He's nearly as big as her
Christopher, her teddy bear,

Like jumping up at door handles
Her paws, making a rattling noise
Asking us to please let her in
Around people she enjoys,

Like following me to the toilet
Patiently waiting outside the door
Interested in this secret place
Making sure her I don't ignore,

Like sitting, waiting, tilting her head
At me eating marmite on toast
Until she's finally given some
Of the food she likes the most,

Like anyone who's walking past
She'll run ahead and flop at their feet
Looking up happily, ready to play
For their attention she will compete,

Like opening, getting into things
Plastic bags, boxes, cupboard doors
Just so everyone knows she can
All on her own, with her four paws,

Like she cuddles up close to me
When I'm sad and needing a friend
Thank you for all this little M.J
I'll love you ‘til the very end.
