Rain

It seems so insane,
Feigning the mundane,
Struggling all in vain,
It is just the rain..

The sound of rain on the roof, caressing you to sleep. I picture drops of rain, dropping in puddles, creating ripples that peacefully, yet eratically scatter away from the epicenter. The rain, falling on your head, and on your shoulders. Trailing down your face, running into your lips, like tears, tasteless tears.

The sound of rain on the roof, driving me mad as my eyes conjure their own rainstorm while I deepen my endeavor to discover sleep. I picture rain, like tears, individually falling to the ground, being lost with all of the others, as if it had no meaning. Trailing down the drain, turning pink, changing red. Blood from the vein, sweat from the pain, tears from the same, playing together with the rain...

Feeling two shades of pain,
Slitting open the vein,
Pleading, "Keep me sane,"
Is it really just the rain?

Sometimes it's so beautiful to me... So peaceful. At others, it forces me to cover my head and writhe, wishing it would stop. Such a translucent idea... Just barely there, but it remains solid in some way. So many thoughts, just from falling water...
