DENIAL IS MY GATEWAY

The door slams shut!
forcing me into consideration
of pathways yet untrodden
to avenues of the unknown
that will soon
become common
And I smile
catching in the passing
chaos of movement
a hint that it should be so
this entrance blocked
another way will have to be chosen
in confusion
for it seems I’m frozen
by the icy wind
of a thousand closed doors
beating destiny’s laws
into my pores
