The Best of All Consequences

by Jemma   Jun 30, 2008

If this is the best of all consequences
I fear and dread the opportunity to know
That which chance could have thrown at us
Guided by impossibilities and certainties
We stand beneath cloudy skies, with murky footsteps
War still being fought in the countries we choose to forget
Illness taking us as it must
And yet we wonder how deserving we are
To find ourselves stuck in so weary a life
But this is the best of all it could have been
I would wage you would not wander
Into a world less fortunate than our own

Based on the philosophy of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
