INNER ALCATRAZ

by Kevin   Jun 3, 2004

I am a slave
I have a Master
and to his call I must answer

My Lords a fool
for he forces rules
that I alone
must live by

protocols for all events
I drown in etiquette
that prevents
escape from chains
of my creations
as if I needed validation

that these prison walls
only deep thought thick
as just as trapping
as those of brick

I dont know ashley. was that poem actually about God? Or perhaps some other 'lord' in your life? Still, a great poem none the less. Very inquisitive, dont stop writing!

Great poem. I know that sometimes I question the Lord's intentinos. But I am his slave too. Its funny tho, I mean, he has given me great friends now and wonderful parents. I love him so much for that. Anywayz, great poem. Hope I can read some more soon.
