Madness(Mayah's Story)

by Lady Nik   Jul 30, 2008

Happiness is so hard for her to find.
It's time you knew about her life.
Sweetly dark, but strangely wise.
Ripped out of her darkness.
And placed in the world's sunshine.

Anxious about death
Wondering why it hasn't called her yet.
She is confused about the feelings she once felt.
Feeling like she's choking on bits of glass
Laughing as her throat swells.

Angry because her sister takes over.
She feels overlooked because she is younger.
She strives for attention, it's her hunger.
Lost from the rest
Contemplating how much longer.

Completely sleep derived
Tossing and turning while her parents fight
Too late to hear her cries
She's found a way
To make herself seem alright.

Broken she remains to be
Making sure a smile is the only thing we see.
Drifting off into her own reality
More than just a girl
She's an intricate mystery.

She wants to know why life is like this
Hating the world, she's giving in.
Mental insanity, one of her many sicknesses
Dreaming of a way out
Out of this life called madness.

*For my best friend Mayah*
