The complicity of Time

by Anthony M   Aug 11, 2008

They say time heals all wounds
but love is no fool,
it knows how to confuse and confound
leaving its victims in a bloody pool.

Time is merely a great deceiver
implemented by love's cruel hold
knowing that deep inside you still need her,
patiently it waits for your mind to unfold.

Cupid delivers his gift not with a kiss
but with an arrow, to remind that with love, comes pain
we would all be wise to remember this,
or risk being doomed, to repeat our mistake, over and over again.
