End of the World

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Aug 15, 2008

The light echos as noise burns bright,
and I witness all abstract things unite.
The tears kill as the knife cries
as lies tell truths as truths tell lies.

Upside down becomes right side up and enemies are all friends.
All ending lines continue as each continuing one ends.
Drops fall from trees as leaves rain from the sky.
All questions are now answers crossing out the word why.

Black becomes a color as white becomes the night.
Everything once okay is now not all right.
Spoken words now silenced as mimes begin to scream.
Everything once real is now a faded dream.

Past becomes the present as the future starts again.
All while we watch this earth make a final spin.
All things warm bring frost bite while all things cold breath fire.
Everything we ever wanted we hate destroying all desire.

Turn off the light and the stars aren't there.
Everything once full, now desolate and bare.
So that's the end, or maybe the start, ask the lie if it's true.
Either way my former friend I'm far away from you.

"as lies tell truths as truths tell lies" loved that line, i know exactly what you mean here.
"Drops fall from trees as leaves rain from the sky." I like the imagery here, i actually pictured a drop of water from a tree in the rain lol. The idea behind this was great, at first i didn't see where you were going with it. But the final line did the entire poem justice. Another great poem, good job jenny. (5/5)
