The Chance That Wasn't There

by Simply Josh   Aug 22, 2008

I've never been a good judge of women
And you were no exception
I guess I didn't try hard enough
For you to see my affection

I thought I that I'd made my feelings
Clear enough for you to see
But I was wrong once more
Which has led to this misery

However I doubt it will last
For already I feel fine
We know of how we feel for each other
So now I can stop wasting time

Because although you see me more than a friend
You only think of me as a brother
And I can't do much about you
Not seeing me as a lover

But there's not much for me to cry about
For not much happened between us two
You were like a chance that wasn't there
And now I stand alone, instead of with you

This was a great piece. very heartfelt yet sad. but at the same time very beautiful too. you expressed yourself well.

i liked that stanza the most. it held the most meaning. and it was a great ending. especially the last two lines really stuck out to me. job well done. 5/5.
