The Lonely Wolf

by The Angel of Secrets   Oct 8, 2008

A lonely wolf I am called by name,
An awful player in life's little game.
A squeaking voice meaning every word,
Always screaming, but never heard.

With a body desired, but an unwanted mind,
Questions never asked about a truth you can't find.
Always wanted but never kissed,
Always gone, but never missed.

A moving ship without sails around the mast,
A turbulent future and a suppressed past.
An empire to grasp, a forgotten queen,
Always shining, but never seen.

Knowledge known, but not the right,
This wolf is an unwelcome and feared sight.
Pages written, but never read,
Never grieved for, but already dead.

The saddest wolf, here I stand,
Leaving one pair of lonely footsteps in the soft sand.
Forgotten by the world, away I was shoved,
As every lost creature: cared for, but never loved.

Hey, great poem! it saddened me, i especially like these two lines:

    "Always wanted but never kissed,
    Always gone, but never missed."

And i love the way you ended the poem, very powerful. 5/5 keep it up.
