Beauty In A Box

Flower in her hair
entrancing smile upon her face
everywhere she goes
bewitching every place

Long dark hair
down to her hips
and still that becoming smile
lingering on her lips

Skin fair and smooth
eyes sparkle with life
and no one knows this girl
lives by the knife

Leaving a trail
of broken hearts behind
but no one really knows
what goes on in her mind

Soft, musical voice
laughter in the air
everywhere she goes
all eyes turn to stare

Casting her spell
on all she sees
she seems so beautiful
mysterious and free

Like a wild animal
that cant be tamed
this young beauty
isn't easily shamed

But take away her freedom
and watch her soul die
slowly losing the glow
that shines in her eyes

Pacing back and forth
trapped within a cage
longing to be free
bottling up her rage

People come from miles
just to gaze upon the face
of beauty in a box
contained to just one place

Stare into her eyes
so intense and deep
watch the fire go out
like a dog put to sleep

The flames within
being smothered each day
flicker of light
fading away

But this is what u wanted
to satisfy your need
to keep beauty in a box
self hate is what you feed

So watch her soul
slowly die
turn away from her
ignore her pleading eyes

Beauty in box
no longer free
on the floor of her prison
locked in without a key

    haha...u tell it like it is Amy. Keep it up. That poem was great as well. I haven't read a poem that I didn't like yet. And I HIGHLY doubt I ever will. They just too awesome to ever put negative things down. That girl. Just really needs to grow up. Great job Amy.

    I need to get a life? um but who just wasted their time on comenting on something they supposingly hate so much. if u hated it that much well u wouldnt have made the effort just to tell me so. And if my poems suck so much tell me why over 50members on this site have added me to their fave list of authors? If your poems are so much better then mine why didnt u log in as ur user name so i could see ur poems for myself? mayb its because your some pathetic loser who just like to try and bring ppl down with negative things. luckily i am better then that and i refuse to lower myself to ur level and trade moronic words such as "u suck". grow up. have some repect for people and their work. i respect your opinion of not liking my work but it means nothing to me because u are nothing to me. but the fact that you comented on this and u admited u have been reading my work confuses me. if u hated it then wouldnt u stop afta reading one poem? instead of keeping on reading them? well you have proved your stupidity and i think i have proved my point.
