The Art of a Kiss

Staring at each other
Speaking volumes with our eyes
It's so silent
You can hear our hearts sigh

A simple smile and
We know what is to come
This interwoven love
Can't be overcome

My heart begins to flutter
As my stomach starts to flip
I close my eyes as your face gets closer
Then the sensation of meeting lips

Passion in its purest form
Love; and all was good
Pushing us to the point
Where our forever stood

I open my eyes and smile
I can't help but beam
Knowing this is what I'd hoped for
This was my perfect dream

I shed a single tear
This perfection is surreal
It's everything I'd waited for
It's everything I feel

"Baby, are you okay?"
I smile in reply
For words would break the moment
And I don't want it to die

I reach up and pull your lips
So that they're touching mine
I feel it all again
This must be a sign

You are the ultimate artist
Our perfect painting titled 'Bliss'
All because you've mastered
The art of a kiss

    This first stanza is perfect! This says it all. So young, and already gifted with a heart that sees and feels the wonder of it all. You've been baptized. Great piece.

    I don't really like the rhyme here . For most of the poem , the flow seems really off . Maybe do a syllable count ? And personally , if you removed the last 4 stanzas , I think the poem would be so much stronger . You wouldn't mention the title , which makes poems really lovely and it would be a little more vague . Well done .. But there are a few touch ups . 4/5

    Good job. You have captured and expressed the feelings a first kiss. Even though I am older now, I still have memories of that first kiss and you brought them back for awhile. The last verse brings it all together and is the perfect end to the poem. Keep up the good work.
