The Promise [Contest]

**written for a contest**

Since we were a child you are by my side
You'd poked me jokingly everytime I cried
You'd always put a band aid on my bruise
We'd sing together as we watch Blue's Clues...

Now that we're grown up, nothing much has changed
Because we promised that things will be the same
You'd still sing for me whenever I was down,
In fact, you had been my hero whenever I drowned..

As we lay here underneath the stars
We both reminisce all of our memoirs
Once upon a time there was a shooting star,
I'd wished that never will we be apart...

Gently, we both spoke our promises,
"We'll stay together, forever and ever,"
He then put his pinky over mine,
As we softly intertwine them like no one could break it apart...
