You are the one

Eyes staring, passion burning deep inside
Though I am alone, they have no effect on me
It would be so easy to give in to the need
to have someone to hold close, but it 's you I see

When days turn to night and I am alone
in my bed, I see your face in front of me
and this longing burns me up inside
In your arms is where I wish to be

Men will want me, as they always have
but I want the one who makes my heart sing
Sometimes you just need the one that makes
You smile, even if it means waiting

    Another wonderful rhyming write Ingrid, and as usual with your writing, contains a message that we all can benefit from, relate to, or symphasise with.
    Yes, you describe in your words, the torment that women go through, endlessly searching as always, for that one special person to share their life with. ........'the one.'
    A thought provoking poem. I liked it.
