The Fantasy That Saved Me

by Nikkicola   Dec 24, 2008

There once was a girl who could turn feelings into words
No doubt a gift given only to those who could save the world
But she wanted to be more, not just a word in one of the stories she hadn't yet written
She was trying to put herself together, only to realize she was never really living.

She was tired of fixing her problems along with everyone elses..
Her heart was turning into stone, she was close to only caring about herself..
If they loved her, why would they pressure her so..
The tears she let fall in the silence of the night so they wouldn't know

Silently making promises she couldn't keep
Figits increasing while sitting in her seat..
Screams loudly coming from her heart...
Seams coming undone, tearing her apart..

Sitting in a little dark room, pencil in hand writing her secrets in a story
While she wrote for once in her life she wasn't filled with worry...
It's amazing the things that girl could write...
From sunrise until late in the night....

Finally a way for her to vent, finally someone who would listen and never judge
Someone for her to love and whom she could never hold a grudge
Her words they never let her down, making so much sense to her and the world
She finally found the only thing that could save her...

The only time she crys now is when a kid tells her what she's done for them
And that She could never possibly understand...
She smiles and says if you only knew, you see
The girl in all of my stories was me....
