My angel my mother

I was born and the only thing I knew was how to cry
I was born crying but she taught me how to smile

I didn't know who was she but her face was so bright
I discovered by time that she is the source of my light

She always smiles at me, I don't remember her frown
She always cheers me up whenever I feel down

She asked me to be brave and to live with a pride
I never felt fear since she always by my side

Before even asking she gives everything I need
I am like an open book for her, she can easily read

For my happiness she sacrificed everything that she can
She has raised me so well from a child into a grown man

Her kindness, caring and love is a never ending show
For what reasons did she do all this? I still don't know

She is my mother and I am her son that's true
But what she did for me not any mother can do

For this, I feel writing this poem for her is like a sin
Because she is too holy to be described by my pen

My dear mother, you are my candle in the darkness
You are the merciful heart when people turn heartless

My dear mother, there are scars only you can heal
And after seeing you I discovered that angels are real

My dear mother, you are an angel, yes you are
You are my everything, you are my guiding star

You are much more precious than this poem has told
And my love for you is more than this world can hold

You live in my heart and no one will ever take your seat
I will always and forever love you as long as my heart beats

One day all of us will die and I don't know when we will be apart
But I want you to know one thing for sure;...you will always live in my heart
