Racism

A black man shakes his head,
At what a young white boy says,
Accused of a crime.
That will cause him to be locked away for days.

The black man was innocent,
He did not commit that crime.
All because the colour of his skin,
He will now pay the time.

Only, because he was different,
No one did believe.
Who else would have done it?
But a black man on his knees.

They say he followed that young girl,
And gave her quite a scare,
There was only a white man that believed him,
But nobody seemed to care.

They really had no proof,
The trail lasted for days,
The father of the girl,
Tried to convince the jury in many ways.

Everyone thought,
That since he was black,
Why would he care,
If he were never to come back.

Racism is a crime,
For lots of people could pay,
Why believe white over black,
Cause your afraid to see things a different way.

i tried to do this for a contest, hope you like it,
i tried to base it on the book "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

Wow I really like how you portray the story in a poem format for this one. It is really captivating how you picture it.It's also sad that there is still racism going on in this world. They fail to see that what lies beneath is skin is the same bone structure of the same colour. The poem was nicely written.Keep it up

Ok the flow was good and the idea is expressed very good , but you nedd to work more on the structure of your lines, and a bit on the rhyming , te subject is original and the but with good structure of the sylabls count and others you can make it wonderful adn mroe appealing to the reader ,.
