You Still Linger

by Roxy   Mar 16, 2009

Licked away the bitter flavor that was coated on my skin.
Tasted fear on my tongue and the pain that danced within.
Saw the memories slip from my eyes as tears fell to the floor.
Didn't hear the words coming from my lips because you choose to ignore.

Watched the blood seep through my veins as the knife kissed my heart.
Couldn't find the right things to say or do, so you watched me fall apart.
Told me you would help but instead you decided to walk out the door.
Left my body and heart laying dead not allowing it to beat once more.

You felt all the flames burn you inside my eyes fulfilled with hell.
Cast a curse upon me, no longer can I flicker a smile because of your spell.
Held my life within your palm and shattered it with your fingers.
And yet my mind still wonders why the thought of you still lingers
