The Return Of The Little Green Goblin ( Children's poem)

by Sylvia   Mar 17, 2009

After our little friend realized his mistake, he went home.
His little wagon shaking vigorously as he headed east.
At the break of dawn he arrived at the gate, blowing his horn
The folks came running , so surprised, to say the least.

A huge banquet was given to celebrate his return.
The elves danced their pirouettes, fluttering their wings.
Dragons and unicorns played their shiny instruments.
As all goblins applauded for their queen, who decided to sing.

Before I sing a song of welcome my little goblin,
I must ask, why did you return to this magical land?
The little goblin thought for a minute and then he spoke.
As I traveled across this land, things were so bland.

There were no colors, the landscape simply shades of grey.
Dry barren land, no grass or trees, no sunshine, only doom and gloom.
The creatures had no smiles, they were all the same,
followers, no leaders, no difference, all in the same costume.

It is then I came to realize that we are not all the same.
I am a little green goblin, that makes me unique, my being.
Each of us in this magical land make the world complete.
We can make a difference and that thought is freeing.

Now my queen, unicorns, dragons, elves and fairies,
it is time for us to sing, too enjoy this land of ours.
To bring colors to the rainbows, sunshine to the days,
acceptance of others and beauty to the flowers.
