Payback time; confessions of a killer

by Ingrid   Mar 18, 2009

(I's almost as if I'm an apparition,
it's as if I invented lurid)

The staccato of her high heels reached me,
long before her image did
red curls leaked over a black fur coat
clinging so delicate and decadently,
to a fragile figure.
The scent of her perfume invaded my nostrils
In this dark and damp alley
we were alone.

I stepped out from the shadows,
She stopped, in her tracks,
The click-clack
Click clack...
Her breathing paused,
Confusion in her eyes, as she observed
Followed by a knowing stare,
and her shadow kissed my feet.

(It's almost as if you recognize me,
eyes alight, fixated
Anonymous to my gaze inside,
But your eyes arrive,
on me this time.
I'm feeling lucky tonight.)

Curious. (To let me approach you)
I surveyed her inner battle with delight
Having decided her female charms would protect her,
she allowed her coat to slip off her left shoulder
Her naked breast appeared and repulsion took over.
Alcohol ignited in her tired eyes,
and amid the liquid cries,
She's dragged into the underbelly.

This is a collab with my friend Danny aka Valedico. Please leave a comment on his page as well:

Well well I never saw this collab coming. I like the idea that this poem was written in a narration style.I can feel the intensity of the scene which both of you have created, which helps me as the reader visualize the scene thoughout the poem.Seriously i couldn't tell whose line was whose which made this collab a job well done

    5/5 from me

Could actually hear the high heel shoes as she walked and for me a dark alleyway. Danger!! Dark and scary, gave me goosebumps. Good job to both of you. 5/5
