Shiny Lights

by BlueEyedMystery   Apr 17, 2009

Your heart beats a little faster,
as the car speeds away.
The rush of midnight screams,
trying to forget the day.

Friend's forever is what you said.
Little girls turning into trouble.
Unseen and unheard,
dreams turn to dust,
as that car speeds ahead.

The smoke burns your eyes,
but you don't let the tears fall.
Standing there in the moonlight,
while feeling so damn small.

You're taken away in the shiny lights.
The hospital seems so small.
Where's your friend?
Is she dead?
Or is she just down the hall?

They say she's dead.
This cannot be true.
You stand up and rush out of the waiting room.
You speed speed speed out of town,
through your blinding tears.

Fall to the ground screaming,
you're sorry for what you said,
Staring at the spot helplessly,
the spot where she had bled.

You'll never forgive yourself,
for fighting on that darkened night.
Your friend is gone. You're all alone.
Why couldn't you have died tonight?

Sometimes we get angry at those who are close to our heart... we say things we shouldnt... but it doesnt mean we ahte them... they are a part of our lives... better let them know everyday we love them...

This is the feeling I got after reading your write... the emotions of a best friend are beautifully described... well narrated...

    wonderful write...
