Confusion Confession

by Lady Nik   May 20, 2009

I once heard footsteps outside on the pavement
As it rained.
I was tempted to look through the bars
To see if they were mine.
There were so many lipstick marks
On my mirror.
I should have wiped them off
But I would have gone blind.
I believed the stories
And I understood the lies.
I hid in your teardrops
And I slept in between the lines.
In a world so bleak but insane
I'm just happy
You think I'm okay
Where blood and rubies are the same.
When death is as invisible as air.
Where joy comes through pain.
When no one knows what's fair.
You will find me
Inside the outside
Fighting this confusion.

    Very nicely done
i found it to be very cryptic
    it was nice...
i like the reference of blood and rubies being the same
    it was clever:)
