My Mother's Pain

by Chrissy   Jun 28, 2009

Young and clueless
I was never aware
of my mother's bruises.

I never knew
the pain she was going through.
I never knew the strength within
her that eventually grew.

On and on
he beat her
but still she didn't let this
defeat her.

Through all the shame
and the overwhelming pain
God found a way.

God showed her
the worth
she never knew and a life
she could live through.

Much stronger now
than ever, we get through
life together.

Never again
will he harm her
and never again will I call him
my father.

Awsome, the poems meaning was very deep and touching, it gave me goose bumps. I dont know what is is for my mother to get beat. But I myself have been beat, so its very touching to me.
