Hidden Tears

by Ray Smallshaw   Jul 10, 2009

Those tears that do not show,

By coursing down my cheeks,

Run through my nerve centre to the emotional centre of my brain,

Plucking at the inner strings of my heart,

Slowly rendering it into an aching mass,

Confused with longing and sorrow,

With words unsaid and feelings long bottled up,

Leaving no relief only emptiness,

Sending me into moments of deep depression,

Hopelessness, misery and loneliness,

Clouding my mind with confused memories of the better times,

Why must this be?

When everything I ever wanted is here with me.
