Eternal life

by Hollow Emotion   Jul 20, 2009

In the pale moonlight, they shine,
their bright, pearly fangs.
The blackened streets,
they'll walk out in gangs.

Looking for prey,
to feast upon at night.
Blood is what they crave,
so keep your eyes open tonight.

They're not afraid of death,
for they are the living dead.
Though bright lights and sunlight
they're afraid instead.

So when your walking the streets
all alone at night.
Beware these creatures,
for they will bite

Don't show fear!
They know you're afraid.
Let them take your blood,
the pain will soon fade

Now walk the streets at night.
it's the only time you can.
The life of the living dead
you have just began.

**K, so i cant write dark poems, this was just for a contest. They said give it a try, so i did. I dont know what dark poems are about, so i wrote about vampires. I'm not a big fan of the topic, but hey, you get what it is**

Prey not Pray There are so many dark poems that cover vampires or the living dead on this site, don't know what the fascination is myself, life has always been my kick. This is not one of the best I have read but don't be deterred, re-read what you have written and perhaps you can get the meter and flow which is missing from this verse. Ray S will not score this till you edit.

I have to agree with LNP. It was a nice write, yet it didn't capture me into what it was supposed to.
