Black Rose

by Beautiful Forever   Aug 6, 2009

It's a beautiful rose - withering away,
A petal falls gently to the ground,
Thorns stick out - fighting another day,
Gently the petal lands without a sound,

Seasons change - weathering this flower,
A second petal falls slightly faster,
Defense continues - struggling each hour,
It's beauty is becoming a disaster,

The stem weakens - it's backbone breaks,
Petals fall in numbers with disgrace,
Vaguely it resembles - the sad mistakes,
Leaving tiny seeds without a trace,

A year has passed - flowers are born,
Shading graves where the petals lie,
Sprouting softly - new colors to adorn,
A truly beautiful rose will never die...
