Our Children

by Beautiful Forever   Sep 23, 2009

Echoing screams vibrate the floor,
A quivering hand reveals an eye,
Shadows move outside the door,
A shaking breath starts to cry,

A box without an exit in sight,
Lost inside a whirlwind of hate,
Seconds feel like hours tonight,
This room has a depressing fate,

The small girl crawls to her bed,
Fear is more brilliant than ever,
Wondering if she's alive or dead,
Hiding under a blanket so clever,

The door breaks, light shines in,
Footsteps move across the floor,
The sudden reality of their sin,
She's not crying like before...
