Obsession

by Anthony M   Sep 29, 2009

On a patio when first our eyes met
I knew then that there was little doubt
our introduction would leave no regret,
as you rained heavily upon my drought.

The ride home breathtakingly exhilarating
overloading my senses with your power,
an experience I had long been awaiting,
we had known each other less than an hour.

Hours effortlessly turned into weeks
casting us into a torrid summer love affair,
touring the countryside in a blurry streak,
caution to the wind, we had not a care.

A moonless dark night, a twisty road
our lives were about to suddenly change,
into a painful existence we began to explode
a feeling of impending doom, familiar yet strange.

A month passes, our wounds slow to heal
but this passion between man and machine
cannot be subdued and remains vital and real,
soon I shall reunite with my two wheeled queen.
