Demons

by Timothy S   Dec 8, 2009

I hate all these thoughts and these demons
Found their comfort in these warm places they've seeded
Consciousness is only a state of mind, and mine is defeated
The hours go by even with the clock being depleted
All the effort is gone and this soul has been weakened
Closed eyes and fists clenched tight, wishing it were just pretend
But this is my life and the time where, I live in the weekend
Never coming back for work, well maybe that depends
Try to steal some compassion, help weaken the defense
Hopefully misguide the true passion, give me something to believe in
A false sense of emotion to fathom, a true artist off the deep end
It's the only way to survive, so it's with them I befriend
All the skeletons in my closet that come forth when I dream them

Some great lines you got there, especially:

Found their comfort in these warm places they've seeded
Consciousness is only a state of mind, and mine is defeated
The hours go by even with the clock being depleted
& i like the way you ended it!

    Keep writing!
