Rags of Time

by Lu   Dec 19, 2009

Rags of Time

You may follow me across the land
Scratch your claws across my soul
Starve my spirit of happiness
Triumph in what you stole

Shatter every hope filled dream
Invade each waking thought
Rejoice in my deepest sorrow
And all that's lead to naught

Darken me with shadows
Slay this beating heart
Destroy each golden memory
Tear my world apart

Yet some day the rags of time
Shall wash pebbles upon the shore
And grant my spirit freedom
In the Land of Evermore!

I just happened to be browsing and decided to give this a look Lu, very nice work. You had a great rhythm going, your flow was wonderful. I also like the feeling behind it, that no matter what is going on, what someone is or might do to us, one day we will find freedom. Great work, glad I stopped to read it.

What a cool poem, I makes me think of the phrase, what comes around go around.
