I want to know

by Lady Nik   Feb 27, 2010

I want to know what it's
like to dance on the
stars that trace the
midnight skyline.
What it's like to hold
your steady hand to
my shaky heart.

To sleep among the
the guardian angels
in fields of lavender plush
To sing harmonies
of bliss with the Gods...

I'd like to feel the rush
like lightening striking
the earth beneath me.
I want to feel something
real...for once.

No more imaginary lullabies
sang to keep the demons
away. I want real arms to
shelter me, real lips to kiss me
real eyes to gaze into.
Fiction can't remain the
path I walk on...

I want to know what it's
like to love someone..for real.

This last verse is the one that really stands out for me, for it used to be my feelings
at one time...beautifully penned! I understand
    your feelings.

This write made me shiver, Nik. Absolutely divine. not beautiful, not wonderful, i mean divine, with two lines underlined beneath it.

All of us want to feel that.. i especially liked this stanza. It hit home..

What I really like about this poem is that people really tend to have a problem admitting this, and it's such a reliefe to read that you're not the only one out there who feels this way. I also love your choice of words, and the way you described things. Your words danced right off of the page, 5/5!
