After School

by Lady Nik   Mar 9, 2010

Sitting on cold cement
long jeans crossed
shoes shimmer off the 5:00
sun. Time slows to a mild run.

Sudden shivers of wind
whisk by...hold a jacket
hide a face. Car soars
on down a blackened
street. Voices once loud
have silenced to a tweet

Phones ring as if they were
chimes...late after school
such a different time.

You bring back those after school memories
for me...you just want to forget the whole
world and shut off! Well penned.
