Don't Be Afraid -Stare Death In the Eye- [Prose]

by BlueEyedMystery   Mar 9, 2010

The shadows grew just a little larger as the flame from the cigarette lighter danced. The smoke coming out of your mouth made my eyes water. I never wanted to look at the wall, but you forced my gaze to the words you painted on with my blood.

"Don't be afraid to stare death in the eye"

And that's exactly what I did. I stared you down as your hands traveled down my skin. I didn't flinch once. The smell of your breath, alcoholic perfume, was trying to gag me into silence, and I've got to say it worked pretty well. Not a single sound escaped my lips. Metallic was just a taste that I had to get used to. The copper liquid filled my mouth. The pain numbed everything after awhile. My body became limp. But I still didn't look away. I watched myself die through your eyes.. I watched my soul be taken away.
