Season of Renewal (Alliteration)

by Sylvia   Apr 17, 2010

Season of renewal, splendid Spring.
Tantalizing time of growth, new life it brings,
precious plants, adorable animals are king.

Gleaming green blades of grass,
peek through dark drab browns of brass,
cowardly covering the ground enmass.

Tranquil trees, limbs no longer bare,
covered with bashful buds, opening with care,
lazy leaves awakening there.

Fragrant flowers blooming,
radiant rainbows of color booming,
a festive feast for the eyes, unassuming.

Beautiful butterflies flitting to and fro,
dashing, dancing through the air all aglow.

Rambunctious robins, harbingers of spring,
returning from their winter roost with zing,
laying their eggs of blue as they sing.

Spring, season of transition.
Wistful winter to sizzling Summer, its mission,
a pleasant pleasing time of ambition,
to enjoy God's wonderful work, His rendition.

I love the word choices in this stanza. bashful buds. Made me smile thinking of a shy tree :)

Your imagery so vivid I could see the flowers and colors in my mind.

I miss seeing the butterflies on the flowers so this really brought back many spring and summer memories for me.

Great job with the form as well and the imagery you use is just astounding and it made it that more pleasant to read. Also I could practically see all the plants and trees in bud. Good job.

Another beautiful poem about spring, but now looking at it more in depth, with more stunning descriptions & a different view. It is the season of renewal. Very well done.
