Today

by Jad   Apr 20, 2010

You smiled at me/ joy overfilled
I bring forward words/ so carefully
Time pauses so it doesn't deter/ Frozen moment
What could happen today/ Unknown

Conversations to remember/ forever
This feeling so nice/ never felt it
As I play with her twice/ How to act?
Laughing and talking/ Somethings wrong

What does it mean/ This pain
Am I only giving myself/ Binding thoughts
False lies to believe/ hope dies
As this feeling I cleave/ Slight hope

To ask is to die/ I want to
To forget is to brake/ Again
My heart for my sake/ Too protective
If only today/ only hope.

Ahh another heart wrenching write full of such sadness. If you ever need anything, I am always here; as far as the poem goes, love the new style you're trying out & it was written with great emotion & was easily felt. A wonderful job here.

Austin, it is a sad poem but with signs of hope at the end. Hope never dies, that is what keeps us going. We may think it has died but doesn't.
